Elbow, the band that scooped the Mercury Music Prize back in 2008, have announced details of a new UK tour planned for March 2011. The new tour will visit nine of the largest arenas in the UK, including a hometown gig at the MEN Arena in Manchester, plus a tour finale at the O2 Arena in London. The tour gets underway at the SECC in Glasgow on the 15th March.
Elbow have spent the last 18 months working on the follow-up to their award winning album The Seldom Seen Kid. The new album, which has not yet been named, is likely to be released prior to the tour, sometime in early 2011.
Update 22nd December 2010: Elbow have announced the name of their fifth studio album, which will be called Build a Rocket Boys!. The album is due to be released on the 7th March, just a week before Elbow's UK arena tour gets underway.
