Roxy Music, the hugely influential art-rock band of the 70s and early 80s, have announced a new UK tour to take place in January and February next year. The 'For Your Pleasure' UK tour will coincide with the 40th anniversary of the band's formation. The seven date tour will start at the Metro Radio arena in Newcastle on the 25th January and will finish at the O2 arena in London on the 7th February.
Speaking in an interview on BBC radio, Andy Mackay and Phil Manzanera from Roxy Music mentioned that one of the catalysts for the new tour was the fact that today's generation of music lovers has never really heard their early work: "All I hear are one or two of the same Roxy songs...and I think what about the 78 other tracks...unless we go and play these songs, no one will ever hear them".
