The Stone Roses to Reform for 2012 World Tour

18th October 2011

The Stone Roses, one of Britain's most influential bands, today announced that it is to reform. At a press conference in London, former band members - Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni - stated that they intend to go 'around the world next year', starting with two gigs in their hometown of Manchester.

The Stone Roses released their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim in 1989. The band's second album, Second Coming, was released five years later. But in 1996 John Squire quit and the band was dissolved by the end of the year.

Now, 15 years later, the band members appear to have fixed their friendships and seem eager to recapture the magic that saw them become one of the greatest British groups of all time.

The Stone Roses will get their comeback tour started with two huge gigs in their hometown of Manchester, to be staged at Heaton Park on 29th and 30th June 2012. Tickets for both shows are expected to go on general sale at 9:30am on Friday 21st October.

UPDATE: Due to incredible demand for tickets The Stone Roses have added a third date at Heaton Park, to take place on 1st July.
