The Rolling Stones Plan 2011 Tour... Possibly

5th November 2010

Keith Richards announced on BBC Radio 6 yesterday that The Rolling Stones are "...ready to go out there again". Their last world tour netted them £344 million but following the postponement of several dates, due to ill health, it was rumoured to be the band's last.

Further delays to the European leg of their 2006 Bigger Bang tour were unavoidable as Keith Richards required brain surgery, following a 'fall from a shrub'.

Keith Richards also told the BBC that they were preparing to start recording again. Keith said "After these many years working together, we have a lot of unfinished stuff to work on that we had to leave off the last album. And knowing Mick, as I do, he's a very prolific writer. I have ideas and we'll put them together in December or January. We're looking forward to working."

The band's management have confirmed that there are no 'concrete plans' for a tour but this is not to say that there isn't something in the pipeline. If this is the case then these are exciting times for every Rolling Stones fan with the prospect of a farewell tour plus a new album.
