Fresh from celebrating the success of their latest number one album, Come Around Sundown, the Kings of Leon have now announced a series of huge outdoor gigs planned for the UK next summer. In total the Kings of Leon have announced five shows to take place in Coventry, Sunderland, Manchester, London and Edinburgh.
The Kings of Leon already have a sell-out UK arena tour planned for December, but the gigs announced for next summer appear to be on a much, much bigger scale.
The Kings of Leon summer 2011 UK tour will get underway at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 30th May. The tour will then travel to the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on 17th June. Two days later it will arrive at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on 19th June. The Kings of Leon will then return to Hyde Park in London (scene of their previous biggest UK solo gig) for another huge show on 22nd June. The tour then travels up to Scotland for a final show at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on 26th June.
Update 28th October 2010: Due to unprecedented demand for tickets, the Kings of Leon have announced an extra date at London's Hyde Park on 23rd June. It was reported that the first gig sold out in a matter of minutes.
