Joe McElderry was the 2009 X Factor winner, beating Olly Murs in the final show. Joe was beaten to the Christmas number one spot, an accolade achieved by all previous X Factor winners, by Rage Against The Machine following a Facebook campaign.
Joe's debut album, Wide Awake, was released in October 2010 on Simon Cowell's record label Syco. The album was met with mixed reviews and, despite peaking at number 3 in the album chart, achieved disappointing sales figures.
Joe's second studio album, Classic, is due to be released on 22nd August under the Decca record label. Joe has also announced a UK tour to take place in November, in support of the new album.
