Steve Winwood

Steve Winwood is an established singer songwriter best known for his hit single, Higher Love. Steve is a highly talented instrumentalist with his main instruments being Hammond organ and guitar. His early career consisted mainly of backing artists such as BB King, Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters but at the young age of 14, Steve joined the Spencer Davis Group where he co-wrote the smash hit Gimme Some Loving.

In 1969 Steve Winwood created the band Blind Faith with Eric Clapton, Ric Grech and Ginger Baker but when Clapton left the band changed its name to Ginger Baker's Airforce with Denny Laine replacing him. Steve's solo career began in 1977 and by 1986 he had released the album Back in the High Life from which the single Higher Love came and earned him two Grammy awards.
