Originally hitting the big time back in the late fifties and early sixties, The Drifters is an American R&B vocal group that has had more than fifteen members over the years including Bill Pinkney and Ben E. King. They are also known as the Original Drifters and the New Drifters. The Drifters have had several US number ones but have failed to reach the top of the charts this side of the Atlantic.
The Drifters have, however, numerous classics to their name including Kissin' in the Back Row of the Movies, Under the Boardwalk and Sweets For My Sweet.
